Pre-owned. This watch was purchased in late 2003 from the AP Boutique in Hong Kong and comes with a big lacquered wooden AP box with key and an undated paper (unfortunately the manual and external box was lost during house moving).

In 2008, this watch was sent to the AP factory for a complete service costing about HKD33k & it is regularly wound up to ensure the clockworks are in motion. It remains in pristine condition with a lightly used original strap that was purchased in recent years. The Répetition Minute chimes with a delightful tone.

According to some source, this manual winding Audemars Piguet with "Jumping Hour & Minute Repeater" in precious platinum case is the world's 1st, with only 100pcs made in platinum & another 100pcs in yellow gold in the mid 90s featuring an ultra slim in-house movement but it would be likely a JLC ébauche as AP owned controlling shares of JLC up to 2000.

Audemars Piguet only made seven minute repeaters between 1945 to 1992. This model was produced after that but there can't be too many of these out there & our watch here has a low single digit number.

This watch has large 22mm lug size so it is fitted with larger than usual strap and very pleasing while the rectangular case with faceted bezel is not exactly small. Very attractively priced for the most discerning collector as it will cost well over S$100K for any repeaters now.
