About This Watch

Pre-owned. Comes with orig. boxes & undated paper/manual. This is the 100th anniversary model launched in 2004 to much applause and it is named Santos 100 but this example is a late production model so the back cover is NOT engraved with 1904-2004. Watch has just been lightly polished & overall condition=99% like new! If you like big watches, good design, reasonable price & good re-sale value, you won't go wrong with this. This is one of the few watches in the world that actually looks good in halfgold & the bracelet version is quite rare in the pre-owned market.

Louis Cartier designed the original Santos watch for his friend: Alberto S. Dumont in 1904 & it has been in production since then. Alberto Santos-Dumont was a Brazilian aviator pioneer who lived in Paris & made several flying achievements, airships & planes. He was a friend of Louis Cartier (Founder of Cartier) who made the Santos watch for him. It was the first commercially available wristwatch.
