About This Watch

Vintage. No box/papers. This is a very handsome vintage watch from Cyma, a reknown household brand in the pre 1980s. The case is large (in those days) & is very well kept. The original dial has a very attractive layout & it has nicely aged while the orig. signed crown is a little worn but works precisely. The gold cap on the case is original & in excellent condition which is a rare find today. Many of these gold parts were removed from watches during the 70s as gold prices soared & mechanical watch values plundered during the quartz era. The gold on the case was then worth more than the watch itself so dealers removed the gold to have it melted & sold then threw or kept the remains of the watch as parts while some were actually new, unsold watches!

Watch is working exceptionally well now. Case is in excellent condition with no sign of rust & movement still shines like new! Tavannes is the same company as Cyma.
