About This Watch

Pre-owned. No boxes, papers & accessories but watch has been verified by Panerai to be authentic. This watch was a gift to the current owner & he did not receive the accessories.

This is the first 44mm automatic Chronographi and the predecessor to the current Daylight chronographs. Only 1500pcs were ever made with grey counters on the dial & it is the only Panerai to be sold with a special Montegrappa pen & stylus that is numbered to match the watch.

Other than that, the dial on this model is "cleaner" compared to the current editions as it does not have the additional "Daylight" word which is associated with same named Sylvester Stallone's movie. It is also the only one till date that has a two tone dial which is very easily recognised.

Watch is used with very minor surface wear & free from major dents or scratches. A good polish will make it look new again for extra cost.

This is a collector's piece & priced low as it has lost it's accessories & we have one with complete set that has just been sold for over S$10K.

Movement Mech. auto winding movt. ETA/Vajoux Ca.7750, 25 jewels, 28800vph. COSC Chronometer certified. Signed & numbered.

Glass Sapphire crystal
Case Cushion style, AISI 316L brushed steel case. Polished bezel with tachymetric scale. Screw-in back with patented locking device on crown guard.
Dial Black with full luminous Arabic nos & hour batons. White signature, markings & min divisions. 3 registers in grey. Date aperture @ 4.5. (quick-set via corrector on case @ 10).
Straps Fitted with orig. black croco L/strap & a signed steel deployant buckle.
Hands Steel & filled with luminous + registers. Steel sweep centre seconds.
Functions Automatic, time & stopwatch with date
