The exclusive Cerachrom bezel is a ceramic developed by Rolex and introduced in 2005. It has excellent anti-corrosion properties and keep their vibrant colours over time. They are virtually scratchproof, and are unaffected by exposure to sunlight (Harmful Ultra Violet rays) as well as to chlorinated or sea water. A thin layer of gold is applied onto the engraved numbers on the ceramic surface which takes 40 hours just to produce each Cerachrom bezel.
