This watch belongs to a single long time owner who had it for almost 40yrs and never worn since new! It was kept away in a bank vault and occasionally brought out to wind then kept away again. Unfortunately, the boxes and papers were lost over time and this watch was very expensive in it's day. A solid gold Rolex can cost several months' salary for the regular executive.

This is the dress watch collection by Rolex, an Oval Cellini for the gentleman made in solid 18KYG and finished with a flora bark texture on the bezel. It dates to the mid 1970s and this model was available until the 1990s.

The case especially bezel is mint as new with just fine handling hairlines if visible and there are no dents or any major scratches to worry about. The movement is fresh as new and serviced. The original silvered dial has it's clear lacquer flaking off at the edges due to age which is not crucial but can be en eyesore for some and we can have it refurbished to any colour of your choice upon request (extra cost). The solid gold bracelet is not an original Rolex which is common as 90% of Cellinis were sold with an after-market bracelet by the dealers in those years because an original Rolex bracelet would cost twice as much. The bracelet fitted to our watch here is of the finest quality from Italian artisans. It is braided into very fine mesh of flat, cloth-like gold measuring 19mm wide and 1.2mm thick then the surface is hammered by hand to achieve a similar texture which matches the watch case. The bracelet is soft, wraps around our wrist like silk and will fit a 17 to 17.5cm wrist. It can be modified for smaller or larger wrists.

This watch is not water resistant so please keep it away from moisture and be careful when you wash hands with it.

It is an icon and a symbolic design by Rolex. Today this watch will attract ladies who prefer large watches and it's simplicity ensures that maintenance cost is very low.
