About This Watch

Vintage. No box/papers. The yellow gold plated case has only light wear on the edges with surface fine hairlines but no dents or major scratches. Back steel cover has is excellent on the outside & has some corrosion marks on the rim but snaps well. Dial is original & very attractive. It is gracefully aged but shows no unusual discoloration & all fine markings visible. Movement functions well & is good. This is a beautiful vintage chronograph from the 1930-40s era with a desirable movement.
Silvana was a swiss manufacturer that is now defunct. Their watches were available in the Far East & common in the 1950s-70s. They made anything from simple lady's watches to gents but nothing highly complicated. This is an unusual piece from the pre-war period featuring a desirable & highly respected Venus Calibre that has the "top & bottom" registers. It is rare as it has a Pulsometer for doctor's use instead of the usual tachymeter. Today, if this movement is to be used by a reputable watchmaker, it's value would be more than 10 times.

Straps	Fitted with a normal brown calf L/strap.
Hands	Yellow gold gilt with a red sweep centre seconds & registers.
