The current owner purchased this watch from the US in 2014. This Vacheron Constantin Jubilee 240 was made in 1995 to celebrate the 240th anniversary of the manufacturer that was founded in 1755. The case & buckle are 18 carat white gold polished to mirror finish and has the usual micro abrasions on the surface area but there are no major dents or deep scratches to cause concern. The original strap is in splendid condition as it was a new replacement and lightly used since while a valuable white gold deployant buckle is fitted. Glass is perfect & it has a fascinating dial with very fine details. It is possible to apply for an archive report from VC but unlike Patek Philippe, you need to ship the watch to the Swiss factory and the complete exercise will cost over S$1000. Not a friendly cost to ownership but this is how they work and not a necessary expenditure since collectors know what this is.

This is not a large watch but one with exquisite details and elegant proportions for a gentleman. Oversized watches are frown upon now and downsizing is de rigueur as people are now dressing for taste and abandoning opulence.

When launched, the Jubilee 240 was the most outstanding design in decades from the oldest watch manufacturer and the barrel shaped case would go on to influence the Malte collection. The "Jubilee 240" was pre-sold to VIPs well before stocks arrived & clients back then had to pay a premium price for one with little or no discount, such was the desirability of this watch. Today, you can own it for a very reasonable cost.
