This is a one lady owner's watch, purchased new in March 2015 from Elegant watch in Hong Kong & comes with complete accessories. This Santos 100 has just been polished to factory specs & the original strap is in very good condition. It was last serviced by Cartier in July 2018 with new gaskets & documented so our watch here has all the bells and whistles for the demanding owner.

The Cartier Santos Dumont collection is named after the father of aviation, a Brazilian Alberto S. Dumont who lived in France from 1891 to 1928. Alberto was an aviator pioneer having designed and made several airships and planes that he personally flew which achieved world records to great fame. However, it was difficult for him to read time from pocket watches while piloting so a request was made to his friend, Louis Cartier (Founder of Cartier) for a watch to be worn on the wrist and the Santos watch was born in 1904. It would accompany Alberto throughout his flights and Cartier enjoyed great publicity as a result. This Cartier Santos 100 was launched in 2004 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Santos watch and has remained as one of the most popular model in the Cartier watch collection.

The Santos watch was the first commercially available wristwatch and has since been named after the famous Brazilian aviator.

Launched in 2004 on the 100th anniversary of the Santos, hence the Santos 100 name.
