About This Watch

Vintage. No box or papers.

In the 1959 Omega catalog, the Ranchero was pictured alongside the Seamaster and the Railmaster, and was offered for the reasonable price of 147 francs.

It was created as an entry level wristwatch that pulled style elements from the late 1950s Speedmaster, Railmaster, and Seamaster, but at a much more affordable price. However, due to cultural sensitivities around the model name, the Ranchero did not sell well in its intended market of North America, and was phased out of production within two years after it's launch. With a coveted "Explorer" style 3-6-9 dial this is an unmistakable icon.

Our watch here is presented in remarkable condition for it's age with a gorgeously patinated dial and lume while the case appears to be unpolished and has general surface wear over the decades but nothing major. The movement retains it's shiny pink gold gilt plates and inner case shows nearly no rust except some dirt on the edges which is normal. This is a very well preserved example and is more than sixty years old. A pedigree vintage watch.

No service history but watch works very well and this can be easily serviced for few hundreds dollars.
