About This Watch

Vintage. Comes with a modern Cartier box and a service bill by Cartier Japan.

This oversized and unusual shaped Cartier was given a well deserved nickname "TV screen" for it's resemblance to the television screen of it's period. Made in the 1970s, this watch is fitted with a manual winding movement which shines like new as can be seen in one of the image here. The solid gold case is hefty, thick with gorgeous stepped bezel lines and in excellent condition throughout. The glass is perfect and everything else is in superb condition. This is a French production item and signed Paris @ the bottom of the dial, similar to the modern day Private collection series that's reserved for only the most distinguished Cartier products.

Watch is in mint condition & sold with it's original 18ct solid gold deployant buckle that requires a custom made strap which is not supplied.

This watch was last maintained by Cartier Japan for ¥48000 (S$625) with a receipt in May 2008 and never worn since.

Another identical version of this was made in vertical format and called Jumbo Gondole which resembles the Patek Philippe's Golden Ellipse of the period.

One example in white gold was sold here by Phillips in 2016 and our watch here is only 240+ pieces away from it in manufacture numbers.

A collector's item and an unmistakable Cartier design.
