Vintage. No box or papers but has the factory issued archive that accompanies this watch. 

This is a very rare pocket watch by Patek Philippe, you may find hundreds of those basic open face watches with small seconds dial made by the firm a century or two ago but to find one with a sweep center seconds made prior to WW2 is going to be very difficult because the movement involves more parts, was complicated to produce and cost dearly. Early sweep center seconds pocket watches were usually made for medical, maritime or scientific purposes as precision timing to the seconds was essential.

Our watch here is presented in splendid condition with a perfect white enamelled dial and a movement that shines under light, showing the Côtes de Genève finishing clearly. The blued steel hands are also a beauty to admire. Watch is stamped and hallmarked throughout. All hinges & bow are tight which shows careful custodians over the last century.

According to factory archive, the movement was produced in 1923 and cased then sold on 3rd of June 1930. Union Suiza is printed on top of the glazed dial which meant that this watch was sold to the Spanish jeweller based in Barcelona. The retailer exists today and continues to be a dealer for Patek Philippe.

JE monogram, presumably the initials of an owner was engraved on the top left corner on the rear of the case. This watch survived the Spanish Civil War, WW2 and many turbulent times over the twentieth century and would make a significant watch for your descendants for a little price.
