About This Watch

Vintage. No box and has factory issued archive certificate stating that this watch was manufactured in 1975 and subsequently sold on 5 September 1978.

A large and heavy pocket watch in solid 18ct yellow gold hunter-style case with double hinged back. It has a Coat of Arms engraved on the cover so this watch would've belonged to an aristocratic family. The hinges & bow are tight which shows little use over the decades. This is not your regular antique piece but something from the late 70s, built with modern watch making materials and skill-set which makes it rather unique. That said, this watch is 45yrs old now and today, Patek continues to produce pocket watches but in limited quantity per year.

In Dec 2019, the movement was completely stripped, disassembled, serviced then lubricated and regulated. The full works would've ensure that it would keep time for several years to come.

The entire gold watch weighs hefty 102.3g while the accompanying 18ct YG bracelet weighs 23.5g and @ current US$43.91/g the chain alone is worth US$1031.90 excluding the exquisite workmanship while the watch with movement is worth US$4500 in gold value. The movement alone by Patek would've worth several thousands as it is finished to double Geneva seal standard and would cost more than ten thousand to commission the same today.

The gold chain alone would've cost you more than S$2K to purchase today.

However, we are looking at a vintage here which is almost half a century old and made in the highest degree of workmanship not to mention a provenance of intriguing history. We don't know which family does this crest belongs to but it would be an adventure for you to investigate. Please open the thumbnail images to admire the movement.

There's nothing more stylish than a gentleman wearing a hunter cased pocket watch and to flick open the cover to read time is a moment of joy that a few privileged could savour. Don't miss this unique opportunity. We have sold many pocket watches and this is the only one that came with a solid gold chain.
