About This Watch

Vintage. Sold with period Rolex boxes with service papers but no original certificate. 

This Rolex Explorer II 1655 is a single owner's watch from new, having purchased it brand new from a Rolex retailer in Kuala Lumpur during July/Aug 1983 for Ringgit 1700 when the S$1 = Rm1.00

The watch has received numerous maintenance by Rolex over the last 3 decades with the last three invoices dating back to 2005 and a most recent work done in Oct 2018 so this watch is under Rolex warranty till Oct 2020 and get this, it's water resistant so you can swim with it.

The dial is original and hands were replaced under recommendation by Rolex few years ago but the tritium are colour matching with the dial which makes this watch very attractive.

The 20mm thick Oyster bracelet has 11 links, 2 links short from full size & is tight with a fold line on two links but otherwise in great condition for it's age. The entire case & bezel are in excellent condition throughout. The lugs are thick while the teeth on the back cover are near perfect.

We are now in the 4th generation Explorer 2 with a 42mm diameter case.

Hands Rhodiumed "Mercedes" style filled with tritium & a sweep centre seconds hand. Large orange arrow tipped hand filled with tritium for 24hrs
