About This Watch

Vintage. No box or papers.

Steel and grey with aged tritium, what more can the vintage collector ask for? This Tudor Oyster Prince Day-date offers double quick-set day and date functions with an acrylic crystal & a case made by Rolex with Rolex crown. Watch was polished and has seen fair use over the years with dents and scratches while the engine turned bezel remains sharp and in very good quality.

Designed and cased by Rolex, and always powered by workhorse Swiss automatic movements, Tudor Date-Days like this are gems of the vintage world. This specimen, with its steel 35mm Oyster case, engine-turned bezel with a radiating grey dial, batons and tritium oozes tons of vintage appeal. The quick set calendar functions pre-dates even Rolex's own by almost a decade when the latter only had a single quick-set date for the Rolex President until they offered the Cal.3155 movement on 182XX reference model in the late 1980s.

This watch is in original, unpolished condition when we acquired it and shows wear throughout. It is sold with a free polishing within a year of purchase. We have chemically cleaned the rust spots on the inner thread of the backs, sealed them with grease and silicon sealed plus a new gasket fitted. These rust spots are common on old watches, especially on water-proof models like Oysters and this watch is considered having minimal rust spots for her age so nothing to be alarmed of. A matching coloured beige calf leather strap with croco grain has been fitted. Rolex uses ETA movements for most of it's Tudor watches from 1960s onwards.A major rebranding in recent years has seen this brand stepped out of the elder brother's shadow, showing strong sales and a legacy of it's own.
