About This Watch

Vintage. No box/papers. This West End Watch Co "Secundus" is a genuine old timepiece hailing from almost a century ago. The case is in splendid condition but most importantly, the white baked enamel dial is in perfect condition, so are the radium on the dial & hands that are matching which is very desirable. The case is in excellent condition as you can see & even the internal dust cover is intact. Many of these centenarians were heavily abused over the last hundred years and often come with cracked dials & rusty movement or crappy cases but this watch appears to be in near perfect which is quite a gem.

This is a genuine period wrist watch when men wear small 30mm watches & not one of those pocket watch conversion. So, the crown is at the correct 3 o'clock position. Such watches were sold to public and many were supplied to military as well due to the radium that glows in darkness. They were first popularised during World War One and soldiers wore them to battles and as a result they were nicknamed as Trench watches due to the plentiful trench warfare of that era.

It takes 15 winds to be fully wound up. Case has been buffed to perfection (except a couple of tiny dents on the back cover) & movement serviced while a new black calf leather strap has been fitted.

Watch is sold with a 6 months warranty & not water proof so please keep it away from shower, swimming & rain! Don't ever drop it or over-wind as well.
