This gorgeous Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar with a retrograde date is a one owner's watch who purchased it new from Sincere Watch in Singapore. According to the owner, he has only worn this watch on two occasions, once for his daughter's wedding and another for a dinner. The condition of the watch and strap speaks for itself.

The winder box works and is given but the interior PVC material is starting to peel.

The solid 18K white gold case is in splendid condition throughout and never polished nor opened so it is presented in it's original condition. There are only the usual handling surface micro hairlines without dents nor any visible deep scratches. Glasses are in perfect condition & the original strap is in splendid condition. All functions checked and watch has been left in the winder in the past years with no service record.

The Ref.5159 first started out as Ref.5050 in the mid-1990s with a Calatrava case that offers a sweep center seconds and a retrograde date vs the slimmer and smaller Ref.3940. It was a success and became Ref.5059 with the Officer's case that we see here that offers down-turned lugs with screw-ends and a hinged back cover that pops open to reveal the glass back while the Ref.3940 was sold with a solid back with an optional glass back.

This Ref.5159 in 18K White gold is a rare watch in the pre-owned market and represents a very tantalising bargain as a new watch is well over S$100K after discount which is what he paid for back in 2009 so this represents genuine savings and the condition of this watch will leave an impression.

This model has been discontinued and replaced by the 5160 in 2024 that offers a heavily engraved case which is now retailing at a whopping S$292600.00.
