Due to the rising interest on rectangular tank watches in recent years, the Reverso by Jaeger LeCoultre has seen it's fortune resurrected. Born some ninety years ago during Art Deco period and on the request of wealthy clients who needed a watch to be protected while engaging in rigorous sports such as riding their horses while playing polo that often shatters the glass of their watches. The design overcame this trouble by having a reversible case where the glass can be turned away from suffering direct hits.

The Reverso is the undisputed reigning sovereign of all rectangular watches. Although there is of course the Cartier Santos but nothing has ever captured the fascination of a reversible watch like the Reverso so much so that even Cartier offered it in their collection throughout the 20th century.

Today, the Reverso is sold with little to no discount and limited editions are holding their values very well. Most of the owners do not sell but trade them among collectors so this is a very rare opportunity for us to offer you one. This is a very special watch, the Jaeger LeCoutre "Reverso Duoface Tribute to Moon" and can be found under the Reverso Tribute collection. This exact model has been discontinued and replaced by the Calendar version that offers days and months on top of what we have here and it retails for US$16700.

This model was subjected to a rigorous 1000hrs testing before releasing to public which shows their commitment to quality. What we really admire is the details on the dial. The silvered side features hand hammered surface while the second blue dial offers Clous-de-Paris guilloché texture, a favourite among horology fans. We did a light polish on the watch to remove surface hairlines and is is good as new now while the original strap remains in near mint condition. Click here to view a video of this watch.
