This is a rare watch from the mid 1990s by the highly respected Ulysse Nardin and the chronograph is fitted with a Lemania calibre that offers not just the usual 12hrs and 30mins counters but a date indicator and moonphase as well. This is the same movement fitted to the Omega Speedmaster and several others in limited nos before LWO was acquired by Swatch group. The large 39mm solid gold case is heavy and presents very well while the acrylic crystal offers a taste of nostalgia.

This is a rare watch with just 300 made and finding another in our area will be challenging. The ivory dial with black hands make reading time an easy affair as such complications are usually quite a challenge to read time but not the case with her. Overall condition is excellent with good pushers and crown while the lugs are thick and straight which means there were no abuses over the years and a glass back allows us to view the very pretty movement.

Would you pay over US$6000 for a special series Omega Speedmaster or this in solid gold and far rarer in production numbers?

Watch has not been serviced in recent years but all functions were checked and in full working order but do expect the regular surface wear as we only did a light polish to her. The watch is fitted with an after market croco strap & original buckle so it is all good. This is very well priced to move as there is another piece in EU asking for well more than S$12K and the owner is raising funds for wedding so let's find this a good home.

Lemania was founded in 1884 by Alfred Lugrin. The company produced high quality movements and received many awards and by 1932, together with Omega and Tissot they formed the SIHH group. The Calibre 1873 (321) was supplied to Omega for the Speedmaster which was then used by NASA for space missions and secured stardom for the company. By 1992, the firm was sold to Breguet which was in turn purchased by Swatch group in 1999.

This watch is fitted with the LWO Calibre 2612 which is a direct descendent of the famous 2310 that was fitted as 321 for the moonwatch but more importantly, it is also the same ebauche as Patek's CH27-70.
