About This Watch

Vintage. No box/papers and a Passions box will be given.

This is an incredible solid gold chronograph by Jaeger LeCoultre produced in the 1960s for the American market and sold under the LeCoultre brand there. The condition is simply so good, the case has been lightly buffed to factory finish & presents good as new without dents nor scratches. It has a near flawless dial except for a spot of blemish @ 22 minute marker while the tritium hour balls are all intact and in a shade of beige. All six hands are good condition and chrono functions well with zero functioning. It has a gold gilt brass movement protection cover and upon lifting it, it reveals the beautiful Valjoux movement calibre 72 in time capsule condition that sparkles.

The two tone dial is very attractive and affixed with a gold LeCoultre logo rather than printed over on lesser models while a blue tachymetre scale on the perimeter adds a nice finishing detail to the watch.

A pedigree watch for vintage watch collectors at a very affordable price and it would be difficult to find another superior example.

It takes about 25 winds on the crown to full power reserve which is about right for this movement.

This movement is used by several brands including the famous Daytona by Rolex of the same era and today, it holds a high place in the chronograph sector.

LeCoultre is a trademark owned by Société Anonyme de la Fabrique D'Horlogerie LeCoultre & Cie, Le Sentier & same as Jaeger LeCoultre and a trading name used in North America from 1932 to 85 before they standardized a universal name under Jaeger LeCoultre.

Today, the steel versions by JLC using the same movement are being sold from S$8K to over S$20K for the diver chronographs and solid gold examples like this are very rare in the global market and as always, condition, condition & condition.
