This is an elegant automatic with a date IWC watch in steel dating to late 1960s. A very handsome classic, bearing a 35mm diameter and a heavy case, this watch was fitted with a very high quality movement for it's time. Would you choose this over the same period Seiko GS which bears similar outlooks.

We have just done light polish to it so the lugs retains it's faceted angles & factory profile is all correct which means this watch was never dropped or suffered any abuse over the last 5 decades. The back cover snaps with a tight click. Have a look at the pictures & you'll see that there's not a sign of corrosion to the case while the movement is good as new so humidity was kept away all the while. The dial and hands are original and near mint with mild patina. The acrylic crystal has a few mild nicks that can be polished away later.

The crown is signed with the IWC fish logo as well. Overall, this is a very presentable vintage IWC in splendid condition with a quality that surpasses many branded watches of those years.

Introduced in 1964, this Calibre 854 & 8541 (with date) featured the Pellation winding system, was smaller and slimmer than it's predecessors. It was one of the best automatic movement to come out of Switzerland in it's days & this would go on to influence the modern day Cal.5000 with 7-days power reserve first used in the Portuguese family of watches.
